ComputerBasic Computers – QQI Level 2 Essential I.T. Come to grips with your computer – learn how to use the keyboard, surf the internet and to produce a short document. Small group and lots of individual attention. The course will commence on Tuesday 23rd February from 10 am to 12 noon and will run for 10 weeks. The cost is €50. Places are limited so please call the centre to reserve your place.

Carers 3Mevagh Carers Group next meeting takes place on Tuesday 9th February at 11 am in the Resource Centre. Dianne Donnelly, HSE Carer’s Development Officer, will be in attendance. Dianne provides support and advice for carers as well as information on Carer’s Allowance, Carer’s Benefit, Respite Care Grant and also directs carers to the relevant supports and services.

crafts 7.jpgMevagh Craft Group meet weekly and share skills such as knitting, crochet, cross stitch, sewing and quilting. Members freely share ideas, swap patterns and help one another along. Group meet every Thursday morning from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm. New members are always welcome.

Breastfeeding support 1Breastfeeding Support Group – will continue to meet on Thursday mornings from 11:00 am -12:30 pm in the Mevagh Family Resource Centre. This is a drop-in support group and is open to pregnant and breastfeeding mums and will be Public Health Nurse led. Feel free to pop in to meet other mums and enjoy a cuppa. For further details, please contact the centre on 9155055 or your local healthcare professional.

bEES 2Busy Bees, Parent, Baby and Toddler Group for babies up to 5 year olds – meet every Friday morning from 10.00am to 12.00 noon, so why not bring your little tots along for a morning of fun. Cost €3 per family.

Pilates 2Pilates classes continue on a Tuesday morning – Beginners at 10:00 am followed by improver’s class at 11:30 am. Usual improver’s class on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. Contact Orlagh on 0872819746 for further information.

Yoga 3Yoga in Mevagh Family Resource Centre every Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. Both beginners and those with previous experience are welcome to come along. Contact Victoria for further information on 087 3297169.

OTHER NOTES

C.L.G. Na nDúnaibh – Underage registration will take place on Friday 5th February between 6:00pm and 7:30pm. Training will continue on Wednesdays for U6’s & U8’s and Thursdays U10’s & U12’s from 6pm – 7pm. New players always welcome.

Downings Tidy Towns – next meeting to discuss planning the proposed St. Patrick’s Evening Parade and activities in Downings village will take place on Wednesday 10th February at 8pm in Mevagh Family Resource Centre. All welcome.
