Breastfeeding support 1Breastfeeding Support Group – will continue to meet on Thursday Mornings from 11:00am-12:30pm. This group is Public Health Nurse led so come along and meet new friends and receive useful tips and guidance. This group is open to all mums-to-be and new mums who are interested in breastfeeding.

bEES 3 Busy Bee’s Parent & Toddler Group – has stopped for the summer.  Back again in September!

 kIDS READING 1“Summer Stars” Reading Programme for Kids will be launched in Mevagh FRC on Friday 8th July from 2pm to 3pm. The Summer Stars reading programme is running in public libraries throughout the country this summer. Summer Stars is a free programme, open to all children. Each child who registers for the programme at their local library joins in the fun of reading lots of exciting books during the summer. Children will receive their own Summer Stars Reading Card to record their progress and the Summer Stars Reward Stamp will be added to their card at the library for each book read. Fun rewards will be provided along the way. At the end of the programme, all children who have participated will be invited to attend an awards event.

BooksMevagh Book Club will meet in the Resource Centre on Tuesday evening, 5th July at 8pm.

crafts 3Mevagh Craft Group continue to meet weekly on Thursday mornings from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm in the Mevagh Family Resource Centre.  New members are always welcome.

yOGA 3Baby & Kids Yoga Week in Mevagh FRC- 11th July – 15th July. Contact Helen Hancock – 085 823 7876. Booking essential.

  • Toddler Yoga (18 months – 4 years) 11:00am – 11:45am. Fee is €45 for the week (drop in is €10). Half price for additional siblings.
  • Baby Yoga (9 weeks – 9 months) 11:45am – 12:30pm. Fee is €70. (A real workout for mum and loads of interactive fun for baby).

 SWIMMING 2.pngIrish Water Safety Week Downings – 18th to 22nd July. Commencing 9:30am on Monday 18th July on Downings Beach. Registration forms are now available in the centre, so please register your child before Monday 18 July. Minimum age 5 years. Cost: €30 per child – concessions available.  Parents must be available for supervision at some stage over the week.  Booking Essential. Contact Mevagh FRC on 91 55055 for further details.

Lifelong-learning3 Beach Scavenging Day – Tuesday 19th July from 2:00-5:00 pm. This is an opportunity to learn about our local beaches and the wonderful plant and sea life that exists. Lots of fun for kids. For National School age (5-12) children only. Booking essential as places are limited contact Mevagh FRC to book. Cost €5 per child.
