Parents Plus for Parents/Guardians of Adolescent Children Starting in September in Milford for 6 weeks with venue and date to be confirmed. The Adolescent’s Programme considers how parents can connect with and build good relationships with their teenage children, while also being firm and influential in their lives. The course will illustrate well-researched principles of effective communication and conflict resolution which parents can use with their teenagers, with the aim of helping them grow into responsible young adults. As well as role-play scenes and interviews with parents, the DVDs include interviews with young people about what it is like to be a teenager and their views about what makes families run smoothly.

Breastfeeding Support Group Meet on Thursday Mornings from 11:00am-12:30pm. This group is Public Health Nurse led so come along and meet new friends and receive useful tips and guidance. This group is open to all mums-to-be and new mums who are interested in breastfeeding.

Busy Bees Parent & Toddler Group The Parent and Toddler Group is an informal group which provides an opportunity for young children and their parents/carers to meet. The group offer opportunities for friendship, learning, and play and is run by a voluntary committee of parents. This committee (with the support of all the other parents attending the group), oversee the smooth running of the group. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, childminders and nannies as well as the parents, are also welcome to attend the group. The group return from their summer break in early September. Cost €3 per child, concessions for families. Fee covers insurance, room rental etc.

Lifestart Spirals Programme (October) The Lifestart Spirals Programme is an innovative, strengths-based, group parenting programme designed around the specific needs and lifestyle context of young parents with children from (pre) birth to age 3 years. The aim of the programme is to empower and support younger parents by providing them with key information, skills and confidence that will help them to nurture their children as they grow and learn.

Basic Computer Course –Friday 16th September 10-12 noon for 8 weeks. Cost €40
